Lady Darkness

Lady darkness took me under her wing

It's cold here

But somehow I've found warmth here

The city shines it's lights

Casting it's reflection in the clouds

Time stands still in this hour

A single breath can cause a blur

In the living art I'm standing in

When the whole world sleeps

I find myself awake

Soaking in the vast nothingness

The days has left behind

I drown in the silence

And I've let myself go

Tomorrow will shuffle without me

Until I open my eyes

And I bid the world hello

To have my moment of glory

You've crawled under helping hands

You've dug tunnels in the hole you're in

When you should have turned right

You've walked walked away

When you should have stood your ground

You've kept quiet

When your voice should have been your weapon

You've turned your back

When you should have fought back

I've seen you torn and tattered

But never taking a moments rest

I've seen you clean your self

Only to wade in the mud again

I've seen you out of the ring

Out of the fight

Only to get up and ask for more

I've seen you at your worst

I've mended your broken heart

And I've seen you break it yourself

I've seen led you forth

Only for you to step back

You've hidden yourself in shadows

On the brightest, warmest days

I've seen you frown behind your smile

I've seen your tears behind your laughter

I've heard the names you call yourself

I know the image you have of yourself

I know how at times you let the dark

Wash over you as of it's your only company

I've seen you hate yourself

Knowing all you need is love

I've seen this all in you knowing
